Cinemagraph Pro App Reviews

What about paid users?

I actually paid for this and suddenly it’s just a free demo for some paid service? Something is broken and it won’t even let me create an account to see if there is a way to restore the features I paid for in the first place. I’d be upset except this app has never been usable.

Not worth 1 star

Waste of time. Spent 40 minutes on something just to find out it has a massive watermark covering the entire exported file. Unusable. Don’t bother.

Easy to use, completely not worth it

Great app idea to make cinemagraphs more accessible to the masses. The app is easy to use and straight forward. Unfortunately this is completely negated by the ridiculous pricing and in-app purchases that are required to get anything at all out of this. You want to get rid of the watermark? Fork over $200. At that price level this is more expensive than Adobe Photoshop which was and is still one of the most complete ways to creating a cinemagraph. Then on top of that if you want to be able to share your “Flixels” (no clue why they are trying to create another term for cinemagraph) on other web properties, you need to have another subscription. I would buy this in a heartbeat if they lowered it to say…$10?

Not worth it

Works good if you have $200 to fork over for a program that basically does one thing. Better off paying for photoshop. Ooor wait till someone releases an app that does this for free or .99 cents. Only a matter of time.

This is seriously a joke

This app doesn’t do many things - it simply makes a video still except for an area. It requires you to record a piece of video with camera absolutely stable, which is rarely the case if you only use iPhone to take videos. And the area with motion can’t be an moving object causing change of mask area. And it isn’t of much real use beyond playing for fun. I tested a video with 29MB and it created a project of 454MB before I did any editing. Then the output video has a big ugly watermark at the center. If you want to remove it you have to pay $199.99. And they also charge $10 or $20 per month to use their cloud service, as if there aren’t plenty of other free options. This is laughable. The developer is totally an opportunists. They know clearly that this app isn’t that usefuls and most people won’t think it worth even $2.

Waste of Money

For $200 that does ONE thing, you’re better off getting Adobe Photoshop or find a dollar app from the App Store.

Discounted Price? Where?!

I see many reviews with individuals speaking of the newly discounted price of $15.00…Where is this?! All I see is the price of $299.99. WHAT?! This program has been designed to be very easy to use, and subsequently for people with limiited knowledge of how to create said cinemagraphs on other programs (i.e. photoshop) that require a more technical knowledge base. If you’ve created a program for more of a general audience like this one, then you should price it appropriately. It seems the absurd asking price of $299.99 would be tailored to more of the professional market. However, professionals that are able to shell out $299.99 for a photo editing program already know how to accomplish a publishable cinemagraph on other software like photoshop. For $15.00 I would buy this in a heartbeat. For $299.99, you would have to be crazy. It really is a shame too, because I could definitely market this for my shark research, and help spread the word of this program to others. It would be a ‘win/win’ situation. Too bad the price is out of a researchers budget. This is a great example of a good product but extremely poor marketing strategy. What a shame.

Great but TOO expensive!!

The feature of this application is really great. You can be so creative in video editing on what to fix from motion and what to keep looping! BUT! $299.99 for this is way too expensive! you can download it for free but if you want to remove the watermark, you’ll need to spend this amount of money!! Please developer, consider discounting its price.

it ain’t 299 anymore

well it’s free today :)

Just Can’t Do it.

It’s not the app, it’s the pricing structure. The effects are very nice, and some wonderful photos have been done with this software, but this is not Creative Cloud, you don’t offer enough of anything to think a $15 month plan or $300 is really worth it. $29.95 yes, anything more than that, no.

One of the silliest bait-and-switches in the Mac App Store

While this developer is clear that the free version ships with a burned-in overlay on every project that you create, you’ll see how utterly silly they are when you go to license it. For a simple little tool like Cinemagraph Pro, they want $30/month or $300 flat. It’s an insane ask for a utility. It can’t really be categorized as a “Pro” app, much less a $30/month service. I’m glad these guys think so highly of their app, but as you can see from the majority-one-star reviews, very few customers agree with them. When an happ has more 1 stars than any other rating, beware. I’m go glad I didn’t pay anything to try this utility out. I won’t call it an app, and I won’t call it Pro.

Great piece of software

I bought this software a while back, possibly when it was first released. There was a crazy sale on it. It was regulary priced at $99.99 I believe. It was 90% off, so I got it for $10. I couldn’t belive it. I am simply a hobbyist, but have had fun creating some cool cinemagraphs. I realize I got a steal on it and I got lucky, but It’s an awesome piece of software that makes the task of what it does extremly simple.

Not worth it

I want to love this app and for what it is, it works well...but the pricing tier is ridiculous. I would definitely pay $10-20 (total) for this app, but $300 or $30/mo is insane for something that I can effectively do in Photoshop within 15 minutes. I love the idea of a targeted app for creating cinemagraphs and if this app ever gets it’s value proposition in line with it’s pricing, I will be all over it. Until then: Uninstall.

Works ok for what it is, not priced accordingly...

I tried it, works fine. It does save time, but not 200.00 worth if you do the occasional cinemagraph. Sharing options are just another way to do a money grab. Too bad that pricing model criples the potential for this program to grow… I finally uninstalled it!
