Cinemagraph Pro App Reviews

Can’t even open the app

I thought this was a great deal at $15. I said, “sure let’s give it a try’. Unfortunately, I haven’t even been able to open the app AT ALL. I checked the system requirements and my MacBook is compatible so I don’t understand what’s going on.

Works like a charm!

This is a cool App! I did a quick test with a quick move created by my iPhone and it looked awesome! With in a couple of minutes I had a living photo. This is going to be fun! :-)

Possibly worth it for professionals; defintely not worth it for non-professionals

The program is very simple on the computer side, which could be useful if you have no technical skills but alot of money so that you can deal with things like image stabilization via controlling the environment. This makes sense for professional uses since digital image stabilization results in image quality deterioration, but not for casual use since its virtually impossible to deal with these issues in casual movie shooting. For non-professionals this tool is essentially worthless though because of the limited feature set, definitely not worth the $15. I could potentially see it being worth $200 for certain professionals. But honestly if you’re a professional you probably have products like photoshop, premiere and after effects which could do the job much much better (with greater effort but much greater payoff). The “production quality” of the app is very nice though, it looks like a lot of money was poured into making a full featured interface for a slender program. Tyra Banks and other celebrities are financial backers of the app and have given it much publicity adding to its “glamour” factor and boosting its app store rank and publicity.

App is not working

i purshased the app but i’m unable to open and load any of my photos to the app !! could anyone help me on explaining how to use this application please ?? Thanks

Would be great if worked

The gif it exports has the first few frames that are corrupt, and only the last few frames show. I tried many times, but get the same result. Please fix.

NOT FOR STILL PHOTOS

Must be a great app for video/movie work but the description needs to be clear that this is a video editing application and NOT a photo editing app. I take photos with a DSLR not video. Not sure how I can use this app now that I have it. Guess I should have done more research on the terminology used in the app description.

Well done

The price change made this so worth it, if creating these is something you are interested in doing. Well laid out, simple to use, great interface - A thoughfully designed app that does what it says - with ease. When I saw this first release, I wanted it but - the pricing put off my click - But now? It’s a no brainer. Happy with the product. Happy with my purchase. Thrilled with the results.

I SO wish I had listened to all the bad reviews...

This can be done in almost any imaging app with a lot more freedom and control. There is nothing special in the fucntionality of this app that specifically qualifies it to apply this affect. It doesn’t track or stabilize, it’s masking capabilities are closer to MS Paintbrush than anything else… I’ve read other reviews that said this was a scam of some sort and though to myself, "wow! This must be so good they’ve upset a lot of people!” HA! No. Actually it’s so bad it must be some sort of scam. Keep in mind that I’m complaining about paying the discounted $15 and not the absolutely crazy $200. Get Photoshop Elements. It can not only do this, it can do it WAY better. To be clear, it’s NOT worth $200. It’s NOT worth $15. It’s NOT worth $2.99.

Not worth the $$$

This app should sell for no more than 4$. I would not make this purchase again.

bugs

when i chose select still image on the playhead, it is a very big image, not the original size. it is a big bug. i am using iMac 27, late 2013.

Works well

I don’t think this app is worth the $200 they were asking… not by a long stretch. But, for $15 it does a nice job. I think you can get apps that do about the same thing on iOS for much less, but the ease of use and convenience of having on my laptop is worth the $15 to me.

Great App!

Cinemagraph Pro is extremely easy to use and very intuitive. Took me a few minutes to fully understand all of the functions within the app, but was able to create a GORGEOUS Cinemagraph within minutes! I have the iPhone version of the app as well, and the $200 for the desktop version is well worth it. I cannot wait to start showing my clients these living photos! Definitely a game changer!

Finally Works As Intended

It took them over 3 months, but the app finally works without glitches. Their customer service was very helpful in making sure the latest update fixed all of the problems. The app is simple to use, creates fantastic final projects, and works great. At the lower price of $15 or $25, it’s worth a shot if creating cinemagraphs seems interesting to you. But it is still a hard pill to swallow at the normal price of $200.

Welcome to the Future!

I see why this has won awards! Yes the price is steep but so are Apple products. You get what you pay for and what you get is something magical! DSLRs have shifted into video so why not our photos?! P.S. Smart investment Tyra!

Cool little app.

I used it to make a cinemaraph 10 minutes after downloading. Makes a moving picture basically. Would look awsome in a digital picture frame on a loop.

One giant leap for photographers/multimediaographers

They are the only ones I know of doing what they do, and they are doing it with excellence.

Great, but why a 10 second limit?

This is a very easy to use app that does almost everything I need, but for some reason it has a 10 second limit which makes no sense to me. I do video production work and a cinemagraph or gif are great tools, but I need to be able to make my gif or cinemagraph as long as I need it to be. Am I missing something? Is there a reason that a gif or cinemagraph can’t be longer than 10 seconds? Or is these just some arbitrary number? Still a great app, but right now it’s not giving me the options I need.

Not a real app. It’s a DEMO.

It is just a demo. To save your project, you have to make a in-app purchase. i thought DEMO is not allowed in Appstore.

Super buggy

I’m not sure how they had a $199 price tag on this before. Super buggy and crashed after 5 minutes of use (in addition to not being able to save a video from my computers camera). Definitely not worth $199 or $20/month for their very-oddly pricedcloud plan.

Editors’ Choice?

Editors’ Choice? Who are these “Editor’s” and why is it most of the choices they make are so ridiculously bad, most of the people who purchase these Apps based on the fact that the Apps are “Editors’ Choices” the people are so disgusted and disappointed, they give the Apps One Star for a Rating. I think the App Store should eliminate “Editors’ Choice” because of how misleading the Editors are. I think more people should complain and inquire about this fact and try to figure out why this is the case the majority of the time. I mean what is it? Are the App Developers paying of the App Store to have their Apps as an “Editors’ Choice”? Is there son sort of monetary arrangement with the App Store where the App Store gets a portion of the proceeds? What is it? Oh, F.Y.I. This App is terrible. As with many others who either purchased it for the insanely original overpriced $200 or the $15 or the 0$ with insanely priced In-App-Purchases, I give this App a deservedly 1 (One) Star.
